Spring hangs chains

Spring hangs chains

from bough and twig,

lamplighter bees

begin their ministrations.

There is a smile upon the breeze.

spawning in the pond
nature tilts at spring's new dawn
life in a bubble

Flavour

Amazing Grace of God:
snowflake on the ground
covering the barren with white,
precision creation
bringing life.
Yet still we coat
this road with salt.

shedding light within the heart
the Lamp of God
searchlight seeker
of dark places
reveals
and
heals

Echoes

Echoes of the sea:

washed up,

scarred,

cleansed.

Purged by salty caresses;

yesterday’s dirt erased

in the forgiveness

of a daily tide.

Industrious by nature

Industrious by nature.

Here is feast aplenty,

the eye dwelling for a while

on comings and goings:

the bee-line.

This is no charity handout,

no floral soup kitchen,

but, here, the dust that settles

when industry is done

is golden promise.

The flight

The flight of locks -

eccentric name

for flight implies escape.

Narrow boats tumble slowly here

in stepped water;

gated breathing space.

Water runs away.
